Yellow Mustard Seeds

Mustard seeds are used as a seasoning and are the basis of Indian cuisine. To begin most curry dishes, you heat oil and drop the seeds in the hot oil with curry leaves. When the mustard seeds begin to sputter, add onions for frying with other ingredients.

Mustard seeds are small round seeds from various mustard plants. They can be coloured from white, to yellowish to black. They are most often used in Indian cooking.
